Drežnica carnival

The Drežnica Carnival, in which only unmarried young men participate, is one of the best-known carnivals in Slovenia. It is an old-fashioned carnival of pagan origin.
The young men make the wooden masks themselves, thus passing on a living cultural heritage from generation to generation.
The Beautiful One (Ta lepi) and the Ugly One (Ta grdi), together with many other characters, form a procession that brings happiness and joy to the residents and attracts both locals and numerous visitors.
