THE BEGINNING OF THE DEMANDING REHABILITATION OF THE LANDSLIDE OVER THE ROAD TOWARDS POLOG VALLEY

The Tolmin Gorges will be physically closed for the duration of the rehabilitation, so visits will not be possible until the completion of the work, respectively until June 8 at the latest.
The work will be carried out in such a way that the contractor will initially crush the large rock masses and deposit them in a temporary landfill in the landslide area, and subsequently transfer the material to the bank under the road, which was damaged in the landslide and on which so-called catch ditches have already been constructed for this purpose. The lower-lying local road towards Zadlaz-Čadrg and Čadrg village will be closed to all traffic during the aforementioned relocation for safety reasons, namely:
- during weekdays from Monday to Friday 7.30-11.00 and 14.30-16.30
- on Saturdays 7:30 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
The Tolmin Gorges will be physically closed for the duration of the rehabilitation, so visits will not be possible until the completion of the work, respectively until June 8 at the latest. During this period, the nearby snack bar will be able to operate at the same time as the road will also be open.
Deputy Mayor Tomaž Štenkler, who monitors the project, would like to take this opportunity to thank all stakeholders for their understanding and constructive cooperation on behalf of the Municipality of Tolmin. As he said, "we wanted the rehabilitation to take place faster, but unfortunately the matter is too demanding to rush".
